Public Health Analyst // 3 months initially // Cambridge // £400/day (inside IR35, Umbrella)

REED Technology are working with a client based in Cambridge who are seeking an Advanced Public Health Analyst to work collaboratively with local, regional, and national partners in health and social care. The role involves utilising analytical and public health expertise to design and implement innovative solutions that support public health and wellbeing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with intelligence colleagues to provide population health intelligence.
  • Promote and deliver epidemiological approaches to improve health outcomes, especially for children and young people.
  • Contribute to population health management using data on health and wider determinants.
  • Monitor and describe the health status of the local population through data analysis.
  • Investigate health inequalities using robust epidemiological methods.
  • Deliver health data analysis for statutory healthcare public health advice and joint commissioning.
  • Manage one or more analysts within the Public Health Intelligence team.
  • Support statutory public health duties, including identifying health inequalities.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of the local government, public health, and NHS environment.
  • Knowledge of public health practice and the role of epidemiology and information analysis.
  • Understanding of the wider determinants of health and their impact on population health.
  • Practical knowledge of information governance for public health data.
