A respected ecological consultancy based near Cambridge is looking for a talented Ecologist to join their expanding team. The company are well known for its collaborative ethos and commitment to sustainable, science-led solutions-works across a diverse range of habitats and sectors, from large-scale infrastructure to local nature recovery projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering ecological surveys, assessments, and mitigation strategies, supporting projects from concept through to completion. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early- to mid-career ecologist to develop technical expertise, take on project responsibility, and contribute to meaningful environmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Undertake and lead ecological field surveys (including protected species and habitat assessments)

  • Analyse data and contribute to high-quality reports, including EcIA and biodiversity net gain assessments

  • Support the design and implementation of mitigation and enhancement measures

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to provide ecological advice and input

  • Contribute to the development of junior staff and the continuous improvement of the ecology team

You will ideally have;

  • Degree in ecology, environmental science, or related discipline

  • Proven experience conducting ecological surveys and reporting

  • Good understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for fieldwork

  • Membership of CIEEM (or working towards it) desirable
