Reed are working with a College in Cambridgeshire and are looking for a passionate and motivatedĀ Trainer Assessor in Electrical InstallationsĀ to join their dynamic Construction team. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and a wide range of generous benefits.

About the role:

You will manage a caseload of apprentices and support them through their learning journey. This includes coordinating their development of knowledge, skills, and behaviours aligned with their apprenticeship programmes, and preparing them for successful End Point Assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for an agreed caseload of learners, monitoring and assessing their progress.
  • Complete regular progress reviews and provide detailed feedback to learners, employers, and colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with employers to support training and development of learners.
  • Assist in the development and recording of learners’ knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
  • Plan and deliver training sessions on both employer and college premises.
  • Ensure all training and assessment comply with college and awarding body standards.
  • Develop materials and resources on electronic platforms such as Smart Assessor and the VLE.
  • Organize and plan assessment opportunities, ensuring constructive feedback is documented to support learners’ progress.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities including learner registration, health and safety assessments, and maintaining accurate records.

What you will need:

  • A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Domestic and Commercial Electrical Installation
  • Substantial, relevant industry experience
  • An Assessor and/or IQA qualification (desirable)
  • Experience in teaching or assessing
  • Strong knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and EPA requirements
  • Professional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence using IT systems and digital tools
  • Flexibility and a collaborative mindset
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use or the means to be able to get to locations covering Cambridgeshire and neighbouring counties.
