This is a fantastic opportunity to join Marshalls Land Systems ((url removed)/) and their team of Electrical Installers, manufacturing and installing electrical circuits and communication systems into mobile workspaces and various electrical products and equipment based at their facility in Cambridge (postcode is CB5 8RX) The role is responsible for the installation of cabling, wiring, and electro-mechanical components into deployable shelters

PAYE rates as follows: STANDARD pays £26.70 per hour (holiday pay is paid on top) ANYTHING OVER 37 HOURS IS TIME AND HALF which pays £40.05 per hour, SUNDAYS pays £53.40 per hour

Initially for 6 -12 months (potential for extension and permanent prospects) Standard Hours are 7.15am – 3.45pm Monday to Thursday with a half day finish on Friday’s

Duties:

  • Assemble and install electrical components into deployable shelters using engineering drawings and associated design data
  • Read schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures
  • Operate standard equipment including but not limited to various testing tools
  • Assemble and install component pieces using hand and power tools
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety, and Quality policies and procedures
  • Participate in the creation of job instructions, operating procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor – Components & Assembly

Employment Requirements:

Essential:

  • Qualification in BS7671 17th/18th edition Requirements for Electrical Installations (must be willing to upgrade from 17th to 18th if already held. If not held training will be provided)
  • Prior Electrical Installation experience
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Available to work overtime as required

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
  • City & Guilds 2365 Level 2/3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Building & Structures, or equivalent electrical qualification)
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles including 5S, Kanban and SMED preferred
  • Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Excel/Word, Outlook
