Our client is seeking an accomplished Solar Electrician to lead the electrical delivery across the west midlands

This is a leadership role with a focus on Solar PV installations and as such, requires significant expertise in electrical engineering within the Solar PV sector. The successful candidate will take responsibility for ensuring that the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget — while upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee all electrical contract elements, ensuring alignment with programme goals, budgets, and milestones.
  • Develop detailed project plans and schedules. 
  • Collaborate closely with disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with relevant standards and regulations. 
  • Conduct inspections and audits to guarantee high-quality work.
  • Enforce robust health and safety practices, addressing risks proactively.
  • Act as the main client contact, delivering progress updates and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including permits, contracts, change orders, and reports.
  • Lead and mentor engineers (1 – 3), and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and performance excellence.

Qualifications & Experience 

  • BPEC Solar PV
  • Significant experience in Solar PV electrical engineering and project management, with a track record of delivering Solar PV projects 
  • 236 Part 1 & 2 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) – essential for compliance and safety.
  • City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection & Testing certification.

Certifications (preferred/advantageous) 

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – required for site management.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 – advantageous for structured delivery.
