Electronics Engineer - Analog Focus
Location: Cambridge (Hybrid)
Salary: 45,000 to 65,000 + benefits

The opportunity
This role is ideal for an Electronics Engineer with a strong analogue background who wants to work on technically challenging, innovation-led projects rather than incremental product updates. You will be involved in the design of advanced electronic systems that underpin next-generation medical and healthcare technologies, with exposure to a wide variety of applications beyond a single sector.

You will join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary engineering environment where analogue design excellence is valued and developed. Projects vary significantly in scope and application, giving you the opportunity to deepen your technical capability while working on genuinely novel engineering problems.

Why this role could suit you
* A strong focus on analogue and mixed-signal electronics design
* Exposure to cutting-edge medical and healthcare technologies with real-world impact
* Variety of projects rather than long-term support of a single product
* Access to extensive in-house labs, prototyping and test facilities
* Structured technical development, mentoring and in-house training
* Hybrid working with a Cambridge office base

What you will be doing
* Contributing to, or leading, the electronics workstream on complex development projects
* Translating client requirements into robust analogue and mixed-signal electronic designs
* Supporting early-stage project scoping and technical feasibility studies
* Developing system architectures in collaboration with software, mechanical and systems engineers
* Designing, simulating and prototyping analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuits
* Working closely with in-house technicians to deliver manufacturable PCB designs
* Creating and executing test plans to validate performance against requirements
* Debugging, testing and supporting system integration activities

What you will bring
* A degree (BSc, MSc or PhD) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline
* Strong hands-on experience in analogue electronics design
* Proficiency in PCB design and layout with consideration for signal integrity and EMC, using tools such as Altium Designer
* A proven background in circuit simulation and modelling, particularly using SPICE-based tools
* Extensive experience testing and debugging analogue and mixed-signal designs
* Experience working to project timelines, delivering prototypes, test data and documentation

Additional technical experience of interest
* Power electronics and converter design
* Impedance matching, measurement and tuning techniques
* Mathematical analysis and test automation using MATLAB, Python or similar tools
