Personal Tax ManagerCambridge£45,000 - £55,000

A well-established accountancy practice based in Cambridge is seeking a proactive and motivated Personal Tax Manager to join it's supportive team. You will oversee a portfolio of personal tax clients, providing professional services to a wide range of businesses and individuals.

Role Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and sole traders.
  • Ensuring timely submission of returns to HMRC and adherence to relevant tax deadlines.
  • Providing tailored tax planning advice to clients, such as strategies to minimise tax liabilities, including inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and income tax.
  • Advising on changes in tax legislation and their impact on clients.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for personal tax clients.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive service.
  • Identifying potential risks and advising on strategies to mitigate them.
  • Supervising junior staff, reviewing their work, and providing training and mentoring.
  • Assisting with workflow management to ensure smooth operations during peak periods.
  • Identifying opportunities for additional services to existing clients and cross-referring within the practice.
  • Handling client queries and disputes with HMRC, including compliance checks and investigations.
  • Ensuring professional and efficient correspondence with tax authorities.

Personal Requirements

  • ACA/ ACCA/ CTA Qualified.
  • At least 3 years experience within an accountancy practice, with significant tax exposure.
  • Strong technical knowledge of tax legislation and compliance
  • Conscientious and organised approach to management of workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing client relationships and team collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in training or mentoring team members.
  • Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
