About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiasticJunior Sous Chefto join the kitchen team at a prestigious Cambridge college. Working closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef, you will help oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen and contribute to the delivery of high-quality meals for a variety of college events, student dining, and formal occasions.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management and food preparation
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
- Assist in menu planning, food ordering, and stock control
- Take a lead role in the absence of the Sous Chef
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and health and safety regulations
- Contribute ideas for seasonal and creative menus appropriate for college dining and functions
- Assist in the preparation of meals for formal halls, special events, and everyday catering requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience working as aChef de PartieorJunior Sous Chefwithin acollege environmentis essential
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery(or equivalent)
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices (minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate)
- A genuine passion for quality food and culinary innovation
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy and varied kitchen
- Team player with a flexible and positive approach to work
