We are seeking a proactive and skilled General Workshop Assistant to join our team in a dynamic fabrication workshop. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational knowledge of metalworking and a keen interest in developing further skills in a hands-on environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist main fabricators in preparing materials for welding, including using metal saws and drills.
- Finish fabrications by spraying and fettling galvanized work, ensuring they are ready for delivery.
- Receive full training to operate a Forklift Truck to unload steel delivery lorries on site.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to support efficient operations and safety standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Some basic metalworking skills and familiarity with a fabrication workshop environment.
- Experience with basic hand tools and power tools.
- Full UK Driving License is essential.
- Willingness to undergo training for Forklift Truck operation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong awareness of health and safety practices.
