Are you a patient, compassionate individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A well-respected specialist school in Cambridge is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a pupil with complex needs.

This inclusive school supports children and young people aged 4 to 19 with a range of learning difficulties, communication needs, and additional challenges. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in helping a pupil thrive academically, emotionally, and socially within a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to a student with SEN, both in and out of the classroom

  • Implement individualised learning and support plans

  • Encourage independence, communication, and engagement

  • Support with personal care and mobility where required

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider school team

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally in a 1:1 capacity

  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic nature

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to adapt to different needs and behaviours

  • A willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g. safeguarding, Team Teach, personal care)

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning) are desirable but not essential
