Join our client in the heart of Cambridge as a Senior Sous Chef! To support the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation and service. Ensuring all HACCP, food safety, health and safety systems are in place and completed daily.

Job Duties:

  • Lead kitchen shifts in the absence of the Sous Chef, supervising staff in the preparation and service of meals for Fellows, students, staff, and guests, while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and service.
  • Deputise for the Head Chef as required.
  • Assist and support Sous Chefs in leading their respective shifts.
  • Comply with all Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation and standards of operation.
  • Work with the Head Chef to compile and submit food orders, ensuring proper stock rotation and inventory management.
  • Support the Head Chef in the planning and development of cyclic menus across all food service areas.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of signature dishes for events and function catering.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to create and implement training plans for all kitchen staff.
  • Provide ongoing on-the-job training to support skill development across the brigade.
  • Mentor and develop team members to competition-level standards.
  • Assist with onboarding and induction of new staff, conducting regular progress reviews during their probation period.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of staff absences and sickness.

What we are looking for:
