Gardener Historic Estate
A rare opportunity to join the Gardens Team of a prestigious historic estate in Cambridge. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Gardener to support the Head Gardener in maintaining and enhancing the grounds to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Garden maintenance: lawns, hedges, pruning, planting, and greenhouse work
Use of a range of machinery and hand tools (training provided)
Supporting new planting schemes and landscape developments
Ensuring safe working practices (including working at height and with machinery)
Communicating effectively with the team and wider estate staff
Requirements:
Level 2 horticultural qualification or equivalent experience
Full UK driving licence
Sound plant knowledge and passion for horticulture
Awareness of Health & Safety, especially in public-facing gardens
Team player with ability to work independently
Physically fit and happy to work outdoors in all weather
Desirable:
Experience in large or public gardens
PA1/PA6 spraying licence
Propagation skills and broad plant knowledge
Basic IT skills
Environmentally responsible gardening approach
Details:
37 hours/week, Monday to Friday (part-time considered)
Occasional out-of-hours work (e.g. watering rota)
Reporting to: Head Gardener
