The role:
We are partnering with this reputable business to recruit an Assistant Payroll Manager based in one of their Cambridgeshire offices, situated next to a mainline train station and offering parking for staff.
The Assistant Payroll Manager will have the primary objective of assisting in providing a full payroll service including completing payrolls of varying deadlines and frequencies and to take responsibility for the progress of the department in the absence of the Manager.
Regular tasks will include, but not limited to -
- Manage, oversee, and prioritise the team’s workload including FPS / EPS / BACS / CIS and so on, to ensure efficient monthly payroll deadlines met.
- Calculate and verify data received such as SSP, SMP, Paternity, Adoption pay, travelling and subsistence allowances, managing implications of salary sacrifice schemes.
- Input of all data and resolving queries.
- Confirm all Income Tax and NI statutory requirements are fully compliant.
- Manage correspondence with external clients such as DWP and HMRC.
- Client management: discuss and resolve issues and queries via various means of communication, both office based and face to face.
- Manage annual tax client queries.
- Ensure staff motivation and loyalty is continued, identifying training needs, mediate communication between the team and management.
- Provide cover for the Payroll Manager in their absence.
Your experience:
You will have proven experience in a payroll post, either in an accountancy firm, boutique or for a large business provide payroll services to multiple divisions and have some exposure to overseeing staff.
