Independent School Chef
Term Time Only40 hours per week (plus 7 weekends)
Salary: £30,000
Schedule:Monday to Friday
Location: CB2 1LY
This role is perfect for a chef/ cook wanting a better work life balance and wanting to a step further in their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals, including catering for special dietary needs
- Oversee cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and dining areas
- Manage stocktaking and ordering of supplies
- Maintain and monitor budgets effectively
- Ensure compliance with the Food Safety Management System
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations
- Serve meals to students and staff
- Utilise IT systems for daily operations
- Foster positive relationships within the school community
- Motivate, develop, and support staff to reach their full potential
- Ensure allergen information is correctly displayed, and food preparation follows dietary requirements
Ideal candidate
- Previous experience in catering or kitchen management
- Positive attitude with the ability to be an effective team player
- Capable of leading and motivating a team
- Food hygiene level 2 certification (preferred)
- Understanding of health and safety procedures
- Exceptional timekeeping and reliability
