We are supporting a leading global manufacturer in their search for an Engineering Area Leader to join their team. This is a Monday to Friday role with a 37.5-hour week and flexible start/finish times. As Engineering Area Leader, you’ll take ownership of a key area of the site and work closely with production and planning teams to optimise asset performance and reduce downtime.This is a hands-on, leadership-focused position offering excellent long-term stability. You’ll also benefit from overtime availability and a comprehensive benefits package.Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead planned maintenance efforts, propose improvement projects, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. You’ll be expected to bring a strong electrical background, solid technical knowledge, and a proactive mindset.Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing planned maintenance: preparation, execution, and handover back to operations
  • Daily asset reviews to minimise unplanned outages
  • Cost control of annual maintenance spend
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity targets
  • Leading capital projects and continuous improvement activities
  • Managing spare parts and ensuring effective inventory control
  • Liaising with production and planning to minimise disruption
  • Maintaining asset documentation and ensuring availability for relevant teams
  • Leading root cause analysis and driving follow-up actions to completion
About you:
  • Recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent (minimum BTEC HNC)
  • 18th Edition Electrical Qualification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and highly organised
  • Broad understanding of engineering disciplines
  • Fully computer literate with experience using CMMS systems
  • Strong knowledge of UK manufacturing legislation
  • IOSH certification – desirable but not essential
