Job Title: Decontamination Engineer

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Decontamination Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, testing, and repair of decontamination equipment across various healthcare and technical sites nationwide. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on decontamination equipment, including but not limited to:
- Automated Endoscope Reprocessors (AERs)
- Washer Disinfectors
- Porous Load Sterilizers
- Small Load Sterilizers
- Ultrasonic Cleaners
- Reverse Osmosis Plants
- Steam Generators
- Conduct weekly process control testing and ensure all decontamination processes adhere to HTM 01-01, HTM 2010, HTM 2030, and CFPP guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, test results, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with site teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruption to operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH and the Health & Safety at Work Act.
- Participate in on-call rotas and provide emergency support as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Recognized engineering qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) relevant to building services or mechanical engineering.
- Proven experience in maintaining and repairing decontamination equipment within healthcare or technical environments.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines, including HTM 01-01, HTM 2010, HTM 2030, and CFPP.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationwide.
