SALARY- 28,000 to 35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Premier Engineering is working with a forward-thinking engineering company based in Cambridge who are looking to recruit a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with an interest in structural analysis and mechanical design using FEA tools.
The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (BEng, MEng, etc.)
- An understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar
- Good understanding of engineering fundamentals and design for manufacture
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- A desire to develop technically and progress within an engineering environment
- Assisting in the design and analysis of mechanical systems and components
- Using FEA software to carry out stress and structural simulations
- Producing detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings
- Supporting senior engineers with design reviews and documentation
- Contributing to product development from concept to production
- Liaising with internal departments such as manufacturing and quality
