You'll review and issue technical reports and technical approval documentation
You'll work with customers and stakeholders to understand and develop project objectives and engage with the wider project team including ECI with internal construction teams and and/or external contractors.
You'll manage the delivery of the annual design programme and individual scheme programmes to ensure delivery in line with programme and available budgets
You'll provide technical training, mentoring and line management including professional development for the bridge design team members
You'll support the Design manager in resource planning and management and recruitment and retention.
You'll lead implementation of PAS 2080 in design for Carbon Management.
What you'll bring:
- Do you have a Civil Engineering or related degree? You'll need this to Bachelors or Masters level
- You'll be an incorporated or Chartered Civil Engineer
- Do you have experience in the practical and pragmatic design of bridges? You'll need this as well as technical understanding of design and Assessment principles and theory, preferably within the Local Authority environment.
- Are you a design software expert? You'll use structural analysis software such as LUSAS, Superstress or other analysis software, along with the ability to guide and advise the design team.
- You'll have knowledge of National Highways standards and other design standards, such as Eurocodes
- You'll be able to manage and lead teams as well as the ability to work and communicate effectively with other design disciplines and with various stakeholders.
