A long-established and highly respected structural and civil engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team. The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading structural design work across a range of projects, providing technical excellence, and supporting both junior staff and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage structural engineering design across multiple projects
- Deliver high-quality technical outputs in line with relevant UK codes and standards
- Prepare, check, and approve design calculations, drawings, and technical reports
- Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, and the wider design team
- Undertake site inspections and provide technical support during construction
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, offering guidance and technical leadership
- Support business development activities, including proposals and client meetings
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and quality systems
Key Requirements
- Chartered or near-Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE preferred)
- Minimum 6 years' experience within a structural engineering consultancy
- Strong technical expertise across steel, concrete, timber, masonry, and composite materials
- Proven experience delivering projects from concept through to completion
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with client-facing experience
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software
- Competent in AutoCAD and/or Revit
