Job Title: Policy and Insight Officer
Location: CB2 3QG

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide research, analysis, advice, and innovative solutions on strategic issues for senior leadership.
  • Support officers across the Council in the development and delivery of strategies under our strategy and policy framework.
  • Use research tools, including AI, to gather data and create well-evidenced policy papers, briefings, and updates.
  • Analyse data on public services and socio-economic trends to inform policy and decision-making.
  • Manage and improve internal guides and tools that support strategic development.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in strategy or policy development relevant to local government.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills to generate actionable insights.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders including councillors, senior leaders, and external partners.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
  • Advanced research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Deep understanding of policy development and how to support others in this process.
