Polytec are seeking a skilled Quality Technician / Inspector to join our Cambridge based client on an 8 - 12 week contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys working in a hands-on, precision-driven environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring that all incoming machined metal parts meet exacting quality standards. Full, hands-on training will be provided on the use of a handheld 3D scanning tool.

Responsibilities

* Inspect incoming machined metal parts using handheld 3D scanning equipment (training provided)
* Generate and analyse detailed metrology reports to confirm compliance with specifications
* Collaborate closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to prioritise inspections and provide clear, actionable feedback
* Maintain accurate records of inspection results and material transactions within the ERP system

Requirements

* Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
* Confident communicator who can liaise effectively across multiple departments
* (Preferred but not essential) Previous experience in a quality control, inspection, or manufacturing role
* (Preferred but not essential) Familiarity with metrology tools or ERP systems
