Our client, a prominent player in the Highways sector, is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cambridge. This role offers an excellent chance to work on diverse and exciting projects, particularly schemes across Environmental and Heavy Civils.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor contract costs against budgets
  • Identify potential risks and evaluate options for control
  • Prepare estimates
  • Procure sub-contractors and prepare subcontract documents
  • Assess and certify interim and final payments to subcontractors
  • Prepare and agree main contract variations
  • Assist in the preparation of documents for dispute resolutions (adjudications, arbitrations, etc.)
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and company procedures


Job Requirements:

  • Ambitious individual with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach
  • Innovative problem-solving abilities and capacity to negotiate across various levels of the construction environment
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills to meet the financial and mathematical demands of the role
  • Experience working on civil engineering schemes, including Flood Protection, with a main contractor
  • Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working with the NEC form of contract
