Our client, a prominent player in the Highways sector, is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cambridge. This role offers an excellent chance to work on diverse and exciting projects, particularly schemes across Environmental and Heavy Civils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor contract costs against budgets
- Identify potential risks and evaluate options for control
- Prepare estimates
- Procure sub-contractors and prepare subcontract documents
- Assess and certify interim and final payments to subcontractors
- Prepare and agree main contract variations
- Assist in the preparation of documents for dispute resolutions (adjudications, arbitrations, etc.)
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and company procedures
Job Requirements:
- Ambitious individual with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach
- Innovative problem-solving abilities and capacity to negotiate across various levels of the construction environment
- Strong numeracy and IT skills to meet the financial and mathematical demands of the role
- Experience working on civil engineering schemes, including Flood Protection, with a main contractor
- Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working with the NEC form of contract
