Due to a healthy pipeline of secured work and strategic growth, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial ownership of multiple civil engineering projects, managing all aspects of cost control, contract administration, subcontractor management, and client liaison. You will play a vital role in protecting commercial interests while supporting project teams to ensure timely and profitable delivery.
Key Responsibilities-
Manage the commercial aspects of multiple civils projects from pre-construction to final account

Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting

Administer NEC, ICE or JCT contracts including early warnings, compensation events, and change management

Procure and manage subcontractors, including scope review, tendering, and payment certification

Lead on value engineering, cost recovery, and risk mitigation

Support tendering teams with pricing, rates, and supply chain engagement

Work closely with operations and planning teams to monitor progress and manage commercial risks

Produce regular reports for senior management and clients

Mentor and support junior commercial staff where required

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or similar

Minimum 6+ years’ experience in a commercial role with a civil engineering contractor

Strong understanding of NEC contracts (Option A & C)

Proven track record on highways, marine, flood defense, energy or related infrastructure projects

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a regional delivery team

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across project sites
