Senior Quantity Surveyor – Cambridgeshire
Salary: Up to £90,000 + Package

A prestigious Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its established team in Cambridgeshire, delivering major DfE (Department for Education) schemes across the region. This is a standout opportunity for a commercially driven QS with a strong track record in education or public-sector new build projects.

The Role

You will take full commercial responsibility for large-value education projects, ensuring robust financial management throughout the lifecycle of each scheme. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all commercial aspects from pre-construction through to final account

  • Leading procurement strategies and overseeing subcontractor packages

  • Preparing cost plans, forecasts, valuations, and detailed financial reports

  • Ensuring compliance with DfE frameworks, processes, and contractual requirements

  • Working closely with operational teams to support successful project delivery

  • Building and maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships

  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior commercial team members

About You

  • Extensive experience as a QS/SQS within a main contracting environment

  • Background in education projects or DfE frameworks is highly advantageous

  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and negotiation skills

  • Confident communicator capable of influencing at all levels

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
