Polytec are looking for a Process Technician to join our Cambridge based client's operations team on a temporary basis. This role is vital in supporting laboratory and manufacturing activities through the accurate processing of samples, assembly of clinical kits, and operation of specialised equipment. The successful candidate will work across both analytical services and manufacturing teams, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and compliance with established procedures.

Responsibilities

* Safely process biological samples following laboratory protocols and documented procedures
* Prepare and assemble clinical sampling kits to high-quality standards for dispatch
* Operate and maintain laboratory and production equipment, including completing performance checks to ensure equipment readiness
* Handle, clean, and assemble laboratory components to support ongoing operations
* Identify and escalate any non-conformances or quality issues to senior staff
* Complete work records, logs, and database entries in accordance with documentation and quality requirements
* Adhere to relevant standards such as ISO 9001 and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
* Assemble, test, and package product components as part of the clinical and diagnostic product range
* Liaise with the supply chain team to prepare and dispatch products and kits on a daily basis
* Comply with all health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment

Requirements

* Minimum of GCSE-level education or equivalent
* Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting
* General IT literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Familiarity with regulated environments such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, or GxP would be advantageous
* Strong ability to follow detailed procedures and perform repetitive tasks with consistency
* Accurate data entry and record-keeping capabilities
* High attention to detail and quality focus
* Clear verbal and written communication skills
* Effective team player with a collaborative approach
* Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities
