This role is crucial in sourcing quality accommodation, coordinating student placements, and ensuring their social and welfare needs are met throughout their stay. Job Title: Accommodation, Activities & Welfare Officer
Position: Mon to Fri, 37 hours
Role type: Permanent
Location: Cambridge, CB4
Salary: £26,800 to £28,600 per annum
Day-to-day of the role:
- Accommodation Management:Â Work closely with the International Centre Manager to identify student accommodation needs, coordinate placements, and maintain a comprehensive database of accommodation options. Conduct annual inspections to ensure all accommodations meet health and safety standards.
- Welfare Support:Â Serve as the first point of contact for students regarding welfare and accommodation issues. Provide guidance on accessing healthcare services and coordinate a vibrant social programme to enhance student life. Handle emergency situations outside office hours on a rotational basis.
- Admissions & Finance:Â Ensure that admissions processes are compliant with regulatory requirements, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely payments to homestay families. Support the achievement of international sales targets and new business development.
- General Duties:Â Uphold professional standards and support the college's values. Adhere to policies related to health and safety, safeguarding, equality and diversity, data protection, and GDPR.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A good standard of general education, including GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above.
- Experience in safeguarding training and a strong ability to engage with diverse groups of people.
- Competency in using Microsoft Office packages and a thorough understanding of the accommodation needs of international students.
- Friendly and welcoming demeanour, with strong empathetic and understanding skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to promoting equality and diversity in all aspects of the role.
- Flexibility to work during unsociable hours and travel to homestay families in and around Cambridge is necessary.
