Backend Software Engineer / Developer (C++) Cambridge / WFH to £65k

Are you a C++ technologist looking for an opportunity to progress your career whilst working on complex and interesting systems with continual learning opportunities?

You could be joining a market leading software house that's remote access product is used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

As a Backend Software Engineer you will join the team responsible for the responsible for creating the client desktop software that forms a key part of the core remote access technology. You'll have exposure across the full development lifecycle from requirements analysis through to design, development and testing with a focus on backend C++ services that require scalability, large amounts of data and must be security compliant.

Initially you'll join a large project to engineer the mobile application of this desktop product using Flutter and Dart (you can pick these up on the job), up coming projects include a piece around cryptography, there's a strong pipeline of projects to keep it interesting!

Location / WFH:

There's a friendly and supportive team environment, you'll be able to work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the Cambridge office once a month.

About You:

  • You have strong C++ development skills
  • You have cross platform experience (i.e. Linux and Windows)
  • You have a good understanding of networking technologies, protocols e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, multicast and security principles / regulated environments
  • You're collaborative with clear, concise communication skills
  • You have a relevant degree e.g. Computer Science
  • It would be great to have some experience with Video codex, Flutter / Dart mobile development, but you can upskill on the job
