Are you a patient, compassionate individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A well-respected specialist school in Cambridge is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a pupil with complex needs.
This inclusive school supports children and young people aged 4 to 19 with a range of learning difficulties, communication needs, and additional challenges. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in helping a pupil thrive academically, emotionally, and socially within a nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent 1:1 support to a student with SEN, both in and out of the classroom

Implement individualised learning and support plans

Encourage independence, communication, and engagement

Support with personal care and mobility where required

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider school team

Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally in a 1:1 capacity

A calm, resilient, and empathetic nature
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to adapt to different needs and behaviours

A willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g. safeguarding, Team Teach, personal care)

Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning) are desirable but not essential
