SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, working with students who have complex needs and learning difficulties. This full-time role offers a path to permanent employment and is ideal for someone passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of children with special educational needs.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide tailored support to students with complex needs and learning difficulties, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Work closely with the teaching staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Assist in the development of social skills and independence in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Use a variety of strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Monitor and record the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Adapt resources to meet the needs of students and assist with the preparation of lessons and materials.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEN students.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with complex needs and learning difficulties.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a resilient attitude towards the challenges of the role.
