Our construction client are seeking an experienced Senior Planner ideally with Water experience to join their major project team in Cambridge.
The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Primavera P6 and other planning software, capable of managing complex programmes and supporting the successful delivery of key infrastructure and water-related projects. Previous major project experience working under NEC will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project programmes in Primavera P6 across all project phases (design, procurement, construction, and commissioning)
- Integrate subcontractor and supplier programmes into the master schedule
- Provide detailed progress reports and critical path analysis to project stakeholders
- Identify potential schedule risks and opportunities, and recommend mitigation strategies
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure planning aligns with delivery goals
- Support bid teams with tender programmes and planning input as needed
- Lead planning reviews and contribute to project performance analysis and forecasting
- Apply planned and actual resources to the programme.
- Programmes are clearly communicated to all users in a way that suits them and that highlights the constraints and resources
- Provide the link between the planning and delivery teams initiating the short-term programme and assisting the delivery team with its development
- Identify areas of developing programme risk with the planning and project team.
Skills/experience/qualifications
- Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within the water or wider utilities/infrastructure sector
- Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential
- Familiarity with other planning and scheduling software such as MS Project, or Asta Powerproject is advantageous
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts and project controls
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
- Eligible to work in the UK
