Multi-Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

Day-to-day of the role:

Assist the Engineering Manager in creating a high-performing team aimed at achieving zero breakdowns and eliminating machine setup issues.
Perform planned mechanical maintenance tasks autonomously to maximise machinery uptime and minimise production disruption.
Support reactive mechanical maintenance tasks proactively, ensuring minimal production downtime in collaboration with the Engineering Manager.
Conduct mechanical installations and adjustments, adhering to health and safety standards.
Help in creating and reviewing mechanical risk assessments, SOPs, OPLs, and Preventative Maintenance Schedules.
Conduct effective fault diagnosis using mechanical root cause analysis to identify problems and determine solutions.
Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, service providers, and department managers.
Suggest mechanical process improvements to foster a culture of continuous improvement and support future business growth.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Reliable, hard-working, and enthusiastic individual.
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, ideally within fresh produce or FMCG.
Formal Qualification in Mechanical Engineering with significant experience in mechanical maintenance and installations.
Proficient in mechanical systems and good IT skills for producing well-presented documentation and reports.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across various departments.
