Electronics Design Engineer

Location: Canterbury, Kent

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you an experienced Electronics Design Engineer looking for a role where you can work across the full product life cycle? This position offers the chance to take concepts from initial idea through to verification, qualification, and production support, while collaborating closely with mechanical and software teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Capturing specifications and turning them into robust electronic designs
  • Selecting and evaluating the right technologies for each project
  • Producing schematic designs, simulations, and supporting design reviews
  • Completing PCB layout and participating in peer reviews
  • Writing technical notes, reports, and test specifications
  • Leading designs through verification and formal qualification
  • Supporting production through fault-finding and documentation
  • Managing component obsolescence
  • Visiting suppliers or customers when required (driving licence needed)

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in electronic design and development roles
  • Understanding of electromechanical and control systems
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and inspection processes
  • Experience with EMC, environmental testing standards is beneficial

Skills & Tools

  • Proficient with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium)
  • Soldering and building prototype circuits
  • Circuit simulation tools (SPICE)
  • Matlab/Simulink
  • Strong mathematical ability
  • Advantageous: Embedded C/C++, C#, application-level C++
