Academics is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and supportive Provision in Canterbury.



The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with pupils who require additional support, including those with:

  • Autism (ASC)

  • ADHD

  • Speech, language & communication needs

  • Social, emotional & mental health needs (SEMH)

  • Moderate learning difficulties (MLD)

You will be supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to access the curriculum, build independence, and develop confidence within a nurturing environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to meet individual learning needs

  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated activities

  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Support pupils in developing social and communication skills

  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals

  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
