gap healthcare is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Team Leader to join a 4-bed supported living service in Canvey Island, Essex. This role combines hands on care with leadership responsibilities. As a Team Leader you will support service users and manage a team of Support Workers, ensuring high-quality and person centred care.

The position is full-time, permanent with a salary range of £29,681.60 - £31,361.60 per annum.

Salary quoted is a base salary of £29,681.60 per annum, inclusive of an on-call allowance, plus recognition of anticipated earnings from sleep in's per annum (paid at £40 per sleep).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and develop a team of Support Workers.
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring care delivery meets organisational, contractual and CQC regulatory standards.
  • Promote a positive and proactive culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Provide direct care and support to tenants, including those requiring personal care.
  • Ensure tenant support plans are followed and regularly reviewed.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, infection control and health & safety.
  • Support tenants in daily living, skill development, and maintaining their tenancy.
  • Complete written records, reports, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Provide on-call support one week out of every four.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, CQC Regulations, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and electronic.
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities, autism and/or complex needs.
  • Commitment to achieving the Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care within 18 months.
  • Flexibility to work across shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within supported living or domiciliary care.
  • Current Level 4 RQF Diploma or equivalent qualification.
