A large independent accountancy practice are recruiting for an Audit Senior for their central Cardiff office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Audit Senior seeking progression. The Accountancy practice offers; flexible and hybrid working, holiday buy back, healthcare and long service holiday incentive plus profit share scheme!

To be considered you need to be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA), specialising in Audit and Accounts. On a daily basis the Audit Senior will be planning and carrying out audit fieldwork, statutory reporting and completion, along with general accounting compliance work. Preparing financial statements, ensuring they are compliant with relevant accounting standards, whilst on occasion training others.

The client portfolio includes some very dynamic and highly acquisitive clients.

Audit Senior duties and responsibilities
  • Delivery of high quality audit and non-audit services, coordinating team members in delivery of same.
  • Working knowledge of UK GAAP (including FRS 102) and International Auditing.
  • Achieving department and individual performance objectives.
  • Managing administration of client, including budgets, WIP and timely billing.
  • Maintaining the highest technical and professional standards.
  • Thinking strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks.
  • Providing additional help and guidance to clients on a consultancy basis.
  • Delivering results and managing client expectations.
  • Identifying ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value.
  • Supervising and coach, train and develop staff to develop their knowledge
  • Undertake and support other staff with preparing year-end accounts for a wide range of companies, partnerships and sole traders.
  • Assist the corporate finance team with specialist assignments.

Applicants will have working knowledge of accountancy packages, including; Sage, Xero or CCH products. You will liaise with clients exceptional communication skills are essential, with advanced IT skills and excellent project management abilities.
