We are seeking a Temporary Audit Technician to join our supportive team for an initial period of 12 weeks. Based in Cardiff, this role involves external auditing across a diverse range of Welsh public sector bodies, including local government, NHS bodies, and the Welsh Government and its related organisations. This position reports directly to an Audit Manager and offers a dynamic work environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Assist the audit team in delivering audits in compliance with the Financial Audit Delivery Manual.
- Complete audit tasks as part of a larger audit project team, following the instruction of the senior auditor or financial audit lead.
- Plan, execute, and report on financial and other audit work in a timely manner to WAO standards and within budget.
- Act as a role model for the values and behaviours of Audit Wales.
- Occasionally undertake additional tasks as required, commensurate with the role's grade.
- AAT level 4 qualification (Essential).
- Three A Levels or equivalent qualifications (Essential).
- Strong understanding of the Welsh public sector and related political environment (Essential).
- Knowledge of audit and accounting standards applicable to the Welsh public sector (Essential).
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel (Essential).
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple audits simultaneously to meet standards and deadlines.
