Description
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations and lead a small transactional team
- Own month-end and period-end processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analysis
- Provide insight and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making
- Be the key point of contact for internal and external audits
- Oversee compliance with VAT, HMRC, and corporate governance requirements
- Manage IFRS16 reporting and stock/capex tracking
- Mentor and develop finance team members through appraisals and ongoing support
Profile
A successful Senior Accountant should have:
- A professional qualification in finance or accounting.
- Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
- Proven experience in a similar finance role within the transport & distribution industry.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedicated approach to mentoring a team.
- Excellent numeracy skills with an analytical mind.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data effectively.
