Senior Ecologist - Cardiff

Are you an experienced ecologist ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a motivated Senior Ecologist to join our growing team near Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects across South Wales and the South West, working alongside a passionate group of environmental professionals.

You'll play a key role in leading ecological surveys, managing a range of projects, mentoring junior team members, and liaising with clients and stakeholders. Your expertise will help shape sustainable development and conservation outcomes across a variety of sectors.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage ecological projects from inception to completion

  • Undertake and oversee a wide range of habitat and protected species surveys

  • Provide high-quality technical reports, including EcIA and HRA assessments

  • Offer expert guidance to clients, planners, and design teams

  • Support business development and contribute to bid writing

  • Mentor junior ecologists and support their professional development



What We're Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy, and mitigation strategies

  • At least one protected species licence (bat licence desirable)

  • Full member (or working towards) of CIEEM

  • Excellent project management and communication skills

  • Full UK driving licence
