Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Deputy Children’s residential manager to join a 4 bed children's home in Cardiff.  This will initially be a temporary, full time position with a pay rate of £22.84ph on offer. There will also be generous enhancements for any evening and weekend working. One of the key objectives is to create a home environment which goes above and beyond the needs of the children and young people to allow them to thrive and develop whilst living there. As such, we are looking for someone who is willing to go the extra mile for the children and young people.   • Demonstrate effective leadership to direct and support the staff team to deliver person-centred childcare working towards the best outcomes for each young person.
  • Ensure that you and the staff work in accordance with all legislation and policies and procedures as set out by our client
  • Create Rotas which fit with the young people's needs and allow for effective handovers between shifts
  • Ensure that young people receive a sensitive residential service which best meets their individual social, racial, psychological, educational, cultural, physical identity and health care needs.
  • Be involved in the selection, recruitment and retention of staff as necessary.
  • Participate effectively in the on-call duty system.
The successful candidate will need:
  • Experience working either as a Children's Home Deputy Manager or as a Senior Support Worker
  • Minimum of Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification) and will ideally have, or be working towards, Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management
  • Social Care Wales Registration
  • Full UK Driving Licence
