Salary: 38-42,000 (dependent on experience)

A leading multi-sector design consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technician to join its Cardiff studio. This is a pivotal opportunity for a confident professional to take ownership of the technical delivery of residential projects, working across all stages from concept through to completion. With a diverse project portfolio spanning the residential, commercial, education, and leisure sectors, the practice offers a collaborative and design-led environment where technical excellence is valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the production of detailed technical drawings and construction packages
- Provide technical leadership throughout all RIBA stages, particularly 3-5
- Act as a main point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors
- Ensure full compliance with UK Building Regulations and relevant housing standards
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to drive design and delivery quality
- Mentor and supervise junior team members
- Manage timelines and ensure smooth project progression
- Contribute to sustainable and compliant design approaches
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree or HNC/HND in Architectural Technology
- Significant post-qualification experience in residential project delivery
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- In-depth understanding of construction methods, detailing, and materials
- Strong knowledge of planning policy, building regulations, and sustainability principles
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical design and manage team inputs
