Solar Designer

Involve Recruitment are in search for a Solar Designer for our clienta growing renewable energy contractor based in Greater Cardiff, specialising in solar PV systems for residential and commercial clients. We're seeking a skilled Solar Designer to support our clients expanding project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Design solar PV systems using PV*Sol, AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.

• Conduct site assessments using satellite data or surveys

• Create layouts, string sizing, SLDs, and energy yield reports

• Ensure compliance with UK regulations (G98/G99, MCS)

• Support DNO applications and technical documentation

• Collaborate with project and installation teams

Requirements

Essential:

• Proficiency in design software (PV*Sol, AutoCAD)

• Strong communication and attention to detail

Desirable:

• Electrical engineering background

• Experience designing solar PV systems

• Experience with battery storage and DNO processes
