Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 per annum (dependent upon experience and qualifications)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday with a 9.15 am start time each day

Our client is a fast-growing independent financial adviser business with principal offices in Birchgrove (Cardiff). They offer independent financial advice and investment management services to private individuals and businesses. They promote quality of service over and above quantity in all areas. They do not advertise, and all of their new clients are referred through existing clients by word of mouth, so service is paramount.

The Role

The role is based in a busy office environment working within a team of paraplanners and liaising with IFA’s, Parasupport and administrators. The role of the paraplanner itself plays a key part in delivering high standards of service to their clients by providing professional support to their clients and colleagues. This is a rare position to join a fully independent IFA company in a role that is varied, rewarding and exciting. This involves using their systems and processes to collect, process and maintain client information, which includes liaising with banks, life/pension/investment providers, doctors and solicitors, to name a few.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing an up-to-date asset sheet for existing clients in preparation for their meeting, using the many provider systems to gather the data.
  • Create client suitability reports using their in-house system, which you will be trained on, and undertake research regarding products that the adviser may recommend to a client.
  • Creating and ordering illustrations to accompany the suitability report and applying for applications online and by telephone, where applicable.
  • Maintain the adviser's activity logs and chase outstanding information that may be needed for the adviser to progress further with their advice before handing over to their administrators to prepare the suitability pack to go out to clients.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ideally, you will have experience working in a busy team within an office environment and/or have experience within the mortgage/life/pension/investment industry.
  • Having recognised industry qualification/s would be helpful, but this is not essential if you have the appropriate experience.
  • You should be comfortable working independently and using your own initiative, as well as contributing to a team.

If an applicant would like to continue pursuing further Financial Services qualifications in order to gain level four status or to gain the mortgage qualification, the company will help with this. The company will recognise and reward professional development. There may also be an opportunity to progress to a registered IFA role if the right applicant applies and progresses appropriately.

Benefits

  • Included in their two bonus schemes
  • A company pension
  • Free on-site parking
  • Sick pay
