Role Purpose

A growing, well-established service and maintenance provider is seeking an experienced and proactive Technical Compliance Manager to oversee the technical, compliance, and quality assurance elements across their engineering operations. Working closely with the Service Delivery Manager, this role ensures all maintenance and engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with the highest industry and regulatory standards.

The successful candidate will maintain full compliance across client contracts, lead technical audits and competency assessments, and drive continual improvement in quality, training, and performance. This position plays a pivotal role in upholding the company's reputation for technical excellence, safety, and reliability.

 

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Compliance Management

Provide strong technical leadership across service and maintenance operations.

Ensure all engineering works adhere to current legislation, British Standards, and client specifications.

Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance and quality frameworks aligned with ISO and H&S standards.

Lead technical audits and inspections, producing clear action plans for improvement.

Manage all compliance records, training documentation, and certification databases to ensure full audit readiness.

 

Operational Collaboration

Work collaboratively with the Service Delivery Manager to align operational delivery with technical and compliance standards.

Provide guidance and technical support to both Helpdesk and field engineers.

Analyse service data to identify recurring technical issues and training needs.

 

Training, Competency & Development

Identify skill gaps and coordinate training programmes and competency assessments.

Maintain an Engineer Competency Matrix detailing technical skills, accreditations, and training progress.

Deliver toolbox talks, technical updates, and workshops to support continuous professional development.

Ensure all engineers are trained, authorised, and operating safely and compliantly.

 

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

Conduct quality reviews of completed works to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.

Review customer feedback and service reports to identify quality trends and areas for improvement.

Lead corrective and preventive action programmes following audits or reviews.

Support ISO processes and external audits across all technical functions.

 

Quoting & Technical Support

Prepare and review small works and remedial quotations for technical accuracy and compliance.

Provide technical validation and pricing support to the Helpdesk and operational teams.

 

Reporting & Insight

Produce regular reports on technical compliance, audit outcomes, and competency performance.

Present findings and improvement plans to senior management and clients.

Use data insights to inform technical strategies, resource allocation, and future investment planning.

 

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Act as a key contact for all technical and compliance-related client or auditor enquiries.

Attend client meetings to provide compliance updates and technical assurance.

Support new contract mobilisations to ensure technical compliance from the outset.

 

 

Candidate Profile

Proven experience in a technical or compliance management role within the Fire, Security, or M&E sectors

In-depth understanding of legislation, British Standards, and compliance frameworks.

Strong background in audits, training, and driving technical improvement initiatives.

Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Strong analytical skills with a proactive, solutions-driven approach.

Relevant technical or compliance qualifications (e.g., FIA, NICEIC, BAFE) are highly desirable.
