Senior Travel Claims Handler
Cardiff (Hybrid Working)

Yolk Recruitment are proud to be working with a growing insurance services provider in central Cardiff, looking to welcome a senior Travel Claims Handler to their friendly and supportive team. This is a full-time, permanent position with a hybrid working model (2-3 days a week)

There is no late night shift patterns, and its not a contact centre role.



What you'll be doing

  • Reviewing and processing complex travel insurance claims and complaints, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy terms and industry regulations.

  • Proactively identifying and addressing training needs within the team and promoting continuous learning.

  • Conducting quality checks and providing constructive feedback to support development.

  • Supporting the Claims Team Leader with day-to-day departmental activities.

  • Acting as a role model, championing and helping to implement process improvements.

  • Contributing positively to team meetings and regular performance discussions.

  • Managing your caseload proactively, ensuring timely progress and resolution.

  • Negotiating settlements and processing payments within agreed limits.

  • Identifying and suggesting ways to improve operational processes and efficiencies.

  • Ensuring quality, service standards, and productivity remain consistently high

What you'll bring

  • At least 12 months' experience in a travel insurance claims environment (essential).
  • The ability to coach, mentor, and develop others.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, third parties, and suppliers
  • A self-motivated approach, with strong organisational skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Confidence in meeting daily and weekly deadlines
  • A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
