Graduate Town PlannerLocation: Cardiff

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading UK-wide planning consultancy in their search for a Graduate Town Planner to join their Cardiff office. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious graduate-ideally with a Masters degree in Town Planning or a related discipline-to kick-start their career with a respected and dynamic consultancy.

The Role

As a Graduate Town Planner, you will work on a diverse portfolio of projects spanning residential, commercial, leisure, retail, and mixed-use developments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.

  • Undertaking research and policy analysis to support development proposals.

  • Assisting with planning appraisals, reports, and client presentations.

  • Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.

You'll receive close mentorship from experienced planners while gaining exposure to high-profile projects across the region.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds (or is soon to complete) a Masters degree in Town Planning or a closely related field.

  • Is working towards, or interested in working towards, RTPI accreditation.

  • Possesses strong research, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Is enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn.

  • Has an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
