About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a highly respected and innovative law firm with a national reputation in employment law. This is a rare opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor to join their award-winning team, known for delivering commercially astute, pragmatic advice across the full spectrum of employment matters.

The firm works with a diverse client base, from global household names and FTSE-listed companies to fast-growing scaleups, public sector bodies, and creative industry leaders. The Cardiff office is a key part of a wider UK employment practice that is regularly ranked in legal directories and celebrated for both technical excellence and its genuinely supportive culture.

What You'll Be Working On

As part of this collaborative and ambitious team, you'll be exposed to an impressive range of high-quality work, including:

  • Employment Tribunal litigation: Supporting on all stages of complex claims-from drafting pleadings and witness statements to attending hearings-across discrimination, unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, and breach of contract claims.

  • Advisory support: Providing day-to-day advice to HR teams, in-house counsel, and senior leadership on disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, absence, and restructuring.

  • Corporate support: Advising on the employment aspects of business transactions, including TUPE, redundancies, and due diligence processes.

  • Industrial relations: Engaging with matters relating to trade unions, collective bargaining, industrial action, and works councils.

  • Policy and compliance work: Drafting and updating employment contracts, policies, handbooks, and employee-facing materials to ensure legal compliance and alignment with commercial objectives.

  • Equality, diversity & inclusion: Advising clients on best practices, audits, and developing inclusive workplace policies that go beyond legal minimums.

  • Cross-border advice: Supporting multinational clients with UK employment law queries as part of global employment projects or multi-jurisdictional initiatives.

You'll also be encouraged to get involved in thought leadership, webinars, and client training sessions, as well as to contribute to internal innovation projects and DE&I initiatives.
