Commissioning and Service Engineer - Security Systems
An established engineering firm with over four decades of experience is seeking a skilled Commissioning and Service Engineer to join their growing team. The business delivers specialist security solutions across the UK, with particular emphasis on supporting blue light clients. This position is ideal for an engineer based in South Wales, Bristol, Wiltshire, Somerset, or along the M4/M5 corridor.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, commissioning, and repair of advanced security systems. They will work as part of a collaborative team delivering new build installations, technical refresh projects, and ongoing service support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out commissioning, service, and repair of security systems in line with client requirements.
Troubleshoot faults and provide technical support to clients and colleagues.
Work alongside commissioning, installation, and service teams on live projects.
Identify opportunities for system improvements and potential additional services.
Maintain a high standard of professionalism and quality across all work.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong IT literacy and familiarity with networked systems.
Experience in configuring and maintaining data networks, workstations, and servers.
Relevant industry certifications (including CSCS).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Professional appearance and a proactive, solution-focused attitude.
Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided).
Eligibility to obtain Police vetting to NPPV Level 2 (essential for client compliance).
Willingness to travel and stay away across the UK as required (expenses and overnight allowance provided).
Familiarity with Cathexis systems and video management software is advantageous (training available).
