About the Postal Delivery Worker role:You'll start your day in the local delivery office, sorting and gathering the mail needed for your route. You will collect your allocated vehicle or trolley and your hand-held computer device (detailing your route and tracking your mail) and then deliver the letters and parcels to your local community.About You:
  • The ideal candidate for this role will be upbeat, self-motivated, and happy to work alone as well as part of a team.
  • You will be helpful and approachable displaying a strong sense of community, as you get to know the people you meet on your round.
  • Royal Mail deliver parcels whatever the weather, so you will enjoy working outdoors and due to the amount of walking required you will need to be relatively fit and healthy.
  • You will be smartly presented, always acting in a professional and courteous manner.
Previous Experience:
  • Some previous experience in a customer facing or delivery role would be ideal but not essential.
  • You will be required to complete a full DBS security check prior to commencing work.
  • Driving licence requirements
  • A full UK manual driving licence (in your current UK address)
  • Maximum 6 penalty points
