BBC Two’s Only Connect is looking for an assistant producer for a three-month contract, based in Cardiff, from January to March 2026, with the potential for a longer-term role in the future. The three-month post would include attending, and lightly contributing to, question meetings and team auditions, preparing briefing documents, liaising with key personnel and assisting with a range of pre-production tasks, as well as attending two blocks of studio recordings. (The studio is, like the office, in Cardiff; the role would involve working between the two locations, as agreed in advance.)
The successful candidate must be clever, engaged, well read, organised and confident.
They need an interest in, and at least a passing knowledge of, music, history, science, literature, global affairs and everything related to the world around us. They must have significant previous experience of working at assistant producer level (or higher). They need a university degree and should make a pretty good member of a quiz team.
