Involve Recruitment are in search of a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator for our client a fit-out subcontractor. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and budgeting phases of various projects, ensuring that all costs are accurately calculated and controlled. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control principles and the ability to evaluate project specifications and requirements effectively.

Duties

  • Review project plans and specifications to prepare accurate estimates for materials, labour, and overhead costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data relevant to the estimation process.
  • Develop comprehensive cost control strategies to monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations of estimates for management review.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Update estimates as necessary based on changes in project scope or market conditions.

Experience

  • Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex information.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of cost control practices is essential; familiarity with industry standards is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
